This training provides an overview of Special Education laws and the rights of parents. The training goes over the entire special education process from referral for special education services through the creation of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Participants will learn how to read IEPs by reviewing sections of sample IEPs. Participants will strengthen their ability to advocate for parents and students when the parent disagrees with the student’s school on special education matters.
